Analysis of the accessibility of your website

As laws and directives are introduced, higher and higher demands are placed on accessibility, requirements that are here to stay. With our expertise in accessibility auditing, we help you ensure that your website is both compliant with the international standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and promotes an inclusive user experience.

About our process

To meet the accessibility directives, we use a combination of advanced automated tools and thorough manual review to identify and address accessibility issues. This approach ensures that we detect both visible and hidden obstacles that may affect the user experience.

A review of three areas

How accessible your website is depends roughly on three factors: design, technical implementation and content. Through our accessibility analysis, you get an assessment of the current situation and a plan for a way forward.

Design

Here we look at the visual design to verify, among other things, that the content is presented in a logical and understandable way, that text and functional icons have sufficient contrast with their background, that the keyboard focus is clearly visible, and that form fields are clearly named.

Technical implementation

In order for assistive devices such as screen readers to be able to convey the right information to the user, websites must be built in the right way. A selection of what we check is that HTML is used in a semantically correct way and that any interactions such as dialogues and dropdown menus are fully usable for all users. We also check that all functionality is accessible and understandable for those who navigate with only a keyboard.

In addition to this, we also evaluate how robust the website is by, among other things, looking at how well it works without JavaScript.

Content

We generally don't look specifically at how texts are written. However, we verify that the content is structured correctly, i.e. that headings, lists, tables and forms are used in a semantic way.

When images are used, we check that they have an appropriate text alternative where relevant.

Report and action plan

After the review, we produce a detailed and clear report that includes a list of identified issues and recommended, prioritized actions to resolve them.

Of course, we can also implement the proposed measures.

Why is it important to do an accessibility review?

  • Promotes inclusion and equality by ensuring that all users, regardless of ability, can use the website.
  • Comply with laws and guidelines that require accessibility on the web.
  • Expands the user base by reaching people with disabilities.
  • Can provide competitive advantage and improve the company's reputation.
  • Creates a better user experience and can improve searchability on the web.
  • Managing risks such as bad publicity and legal consequences.
  • Ensure compliance with the Accessibility Directive (enters into force June 2025)
