Environmental work and sustainability

At Epinova, we want sustainability to permeate our work.

Our absolute goal is to be an environmentally conscious organization. As a consulting company, we do not have a great need for physical resources and our environmental impact is limited, but through conscious choices we want to strive to minimize this further.

Nova Consulting Group (NCG), of which Epinova is a part, has a ISO9001 certification and the goal is to also achieve ISO14001. We therefore use NCG's environmental policy as our starting point and we have supplemented it with things that feel extra important to us who are employed by Epinova.

Our overall goals with our environmental work

  • Efficient management of energy and other resources
  • Minimizing our footprint
  • Contribute to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030
  • Lead and inspire others

We also want to...

  • Have an active environmental mindset to attract both existing and future employees
  • Even better respond to customers' demands on us in terms of environmental awareness
  • In interaction with our customers and suppliers, achieve continuous improvements

We have concretised our environmental policy and our environmental work in a number of guidelines to support all our employees. Get in touch if you want to take part!

Concrete measures to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases

Since we are a consulting company that primarily works with our customers' solutions, we have chosen to focus our work on reducing greenhouse gas emissions not only on our own operations, but also on how we can help our customers reduce their emissions. Here is a list of various measures that we have taken or are currently working on to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for Epinova as well as our customers:

  • We have chosen to have an office in a central location in Stockholm so that as many people as possible can go to the office by municipal transport and there is also a bicycle room to make it easier for those who want and can cycle to the office.
  • We have an office that has been renovated to achieve a high environmental rating. As work is still being done on the property, the environmental classification has not yet been defined, but environmental class A or alternatively B is aimed for.
  • We rent furniture for the office via Nornorm in order to have a circular mindset where we don't have to buy in or sell furniture when we need to refurnish.
  • We have relatively little physical travel, as we primarily work digitally with our customers. When we do travel, our recommendations are to take the train or bus rather than flying whenever possible.
  • We have internal knowledge sharing to increase understanding of how different solutions affect emissions of greenhouse gases. We work actively together with our customers and their solutions to reduce their environmental impact, e.g.:
    • We follow up on where solutions are hosted, and try to move as many solutions as possible to Sweden, which has low emissions of greenhouse gases when producing electricity.
    • We primarily work with solutions built on our development framework, where one of the goals is to work with modern technologies and designs to reduce energy consumption and the amount of data that needs to be downloaded via network.
