Bryan found love and moved to Sweden

As a father of young children, Bryan is proud of Epinova's values. This is where the puzzle of life comes together.

Bryan Moore

Bryan has been involved from the very beginning when Epinova started in Sweden. It's been five years now and he's enjoying himself like a fish in water.

Tell us a little about your background

I grew up in Colorado and I played video games and built my own computers when I was a kid. When I was eventually going to university, it was computers and building things that interested me the most, so the choice was to study computer science at the university in South Carolina, on the east coast.

How did you end up in Sweden?

I met my future wife at university. I've always loved to travel and when we were done with our studies, we could either move back to Colorado or we could move to Sweden. I saw it as a "once in a lifetime" chance to move from the US to Europe. Once you have put down your stakes, it is more difficult to break up. I don't regret the choice for a second! Now I have been working in Sweden for almost 10 years and all the time with web development.

Why did you choose Epinova?

I have always been very involved in various technical meetups and networks and when I was a guest lecturer on "Girls-Code" I got tips about Epinova.

After a number of meetings, including with Epinova's founder Geir Allan Hove, who is our CEO, I felt that it was very tempting and exciting to start at Epinova.

I had been looking for a company where I as a person could contribute and where my voice would be heard.

Unique opportunity

I was the third person to be hired, so it was a big risk for me, but in the same way as when I took the chance to move to Sweden, I saw this as a unique opportunity to start at a start-up company.

When I started in the spring of 2018, we didn't have much to do in the beginning, so I helped with what I could internally and then I ran tutorials and tutorials. But that was five years ago. Now we are in an upward spiral. We are busy with our own projects and new customers, which creates security. We have also become more employees and we continue to grow - which is very fun!

What's it like to work with us?

It's amazing! What sets us apart from others is that our project teams are really tight and that we share our knowledge and help each other solve problems no matter what project we are working on.

We trust each other and support each other to build the best web solutions for our customers. Those of us who work here are not looking to work in an "everyone can do for themselves" environment. No, we want to learn from each other, which means that we are constantly improving.

What is important to you as a family person?

All my free time goes to my two daughters and family. I love being outdoors and spending time with my family. We have bought a terraced house and our oldest daughter is in preschool.

At my last company, they always said that family life and balance in life were important, but I felt that it was more empty words. In the past, I have thought that "yes, that sounds very good" – but now that I have a family, it means a lot to me, for real. Yes, you could say that I live our values and I am both happy and proud of that!
